The lot features a nice set of hide beaded legging chaps from the Montana Crow Native American Indians from the 1950's. The set shows a nice heavy Buffalo Indian tanned hide with long hand cut side fringe having blanket strips of beadwork. The beadwork is all glass trade seed beads in chalk white, black, red, orange and cobalt. The beaded strips appear to be loom beaded on a wool trade clothe strips. The set is similar to a set of chaps in construction with the legs meeting at the waist with an early solid brass buckle. Overall the set is in good condition and measures 40 1/2" x 25".
