Featured in this lot is this pair of custom made, Tony Lama University of Kentucky Wildcats men's leather boots from the late 20th century. These are vintage new old stock boots. Tony Lama Sr., a U.S. Cavalry cobbler, founded Tony Lama Boots in El Paso, Texas, in 1911. From a modest repair business, the company developed into a leading Western boot manufacturer renowned for its exotic and high-quality leathers. The company, which was eventually purchased by Justin Brands in 1990, gained international recognition for creating cowboy boots that were comfortable, long-lasting, and fashionable. They feature an all blue leather construction with embroidered wildcat logos near the base of the boot. The shaft shows a white leather construction showing the letters "UK ™" for the University of Kentucky. The interior of the boots are marked reading, "Tony Lama / Reg. No. 22811160 / K / Style 3827 / Size 11 EE / 5". The boot show good condition overall with some wear present from their use but no major signs of damage is noted. They measure 12 1/4" L x 4 1/8" W x 14 1/4" H and have a collective weight of 3 pounds.
