Featured in this lot is this collection of Czech/ Bohemian Prosser trade bead necklaces. The collection includes a total of 6 necklaces in this collection. The necklaces feature a wonderfully and professionally crafted powdered glass construction that shows sphere beads and a light blue almost grey coloration and are strung on sinew twine. Czech Prosser beads are vintage, molded glass beads originating from Bohemia (modern-day Czech Republic) in the 1830s, defined by a distinct, often visible, equatorial seam. Originally created by Richard Prosser for buttons, these beads were extensively traded in Africa from the late 1800s to early 1900s. They are popular today in jewelry for their rustic, matte, or opaque, often muted colors. The condition of this collection of Czech Glass Prosser beaded necklaces is well preserved with no obvious signs of damage and shows a well preserved overall condition. The flat measurements of these necklaces is 13 3/4". The collective weight of these necklaces is 355.8g. Provenance: From the Indian Nation Trading Post.
