The lot features an original Daniel Altschuler United States of America circa 2000 The First People Freedom Indian Peace Medal that is Gold Plated. The medal is signed at the bottom of the Indian bust, "Daniel Altschuler 1999". The piece is a thick and heavy medal that is marked on the front, "AMERICA / THE FIRST PEOPLE / 2000" with a raised center, ridged border and raised side profile of a Native American warrior. On the rim the medal is marked "GOLD PLATE" and on the back "United States America E. PLVRIBVS VNV". The back also shows a ridged border with raised center section and a fantastic American Bald Eagle with spread wings atop of a rock marked MM. The gold is nice a bright and well kept. Truly a wonderful original Daniel Altschuler sculpture. Daniel Altschuler is a professional member of the National Sculpture Society, AMSA, and the Portrait Society of America. Born Wayne, Pennsylvania, 4 July 1965 he was the sole assistant to Walker Hancock for 13 years. He specializes in statuary, busts, and numismatics in his company, DIA Sculpture Studios, Ltd. Measures overall 2 1/8" diameter. Previously valued near $1,000. Total weight of 137g
