Featured in this lot is an Original Signed Dave Kulczyk Bronze, "On The Long Trail To Justice", 1987, #118/1000. Commissioned by the U.S. Marshals to commemorate their 200th birthday. This bronze was presented to Richard Winget on March 31, 2003, upon his presidential appointment as U. S. Marshal for the District of Nevada by then President, George W. Bush. Inscribed on the reverse is Winget's badge number, 6090. Dave Kulczyk unknowingly started his career quite early in life as a cowboy and artist, creativity flowing over into the cowboy world and cowboy into the art world. His time in the rodeo arena saw him crowned the North Dakota 1973 State Champion Healer. He turned to sculpture full time, recreating unforgettable moments with his sculptures reflecting a piece of North Dakota heritage. Cowboys, Indians and wildlife. Well known for his bronze sculptures, Kulczyk was chosen along with Colt and Winchester by the U.S. Marshals to do commemorative pieces for their Bicentennial. The sculpture depicts a U. S. Marshal on horseback, holding a repeating rifle in his right hand as it's nestled in the crook of his left arm, his left hand holding the horse's reins. His gaze is at the ground ahead, searching for the elusive signs of horse tracks on a trail. Kulczyk's details are striking, the sinewy horse's haunches and legs, the clothing worn by the marshal, his hands and facial features display Kulczyk's impressive talents. This compelling bronze sculpture stands 20" tall and is mounted on solid stained wood base. The piece measures 5.5"W x 14.5"L x 20"H, and the weight is 22lb 6oz.*
