Featured in this lot is this bronze sculpture of a water buffalo circa 1977 from artist Dave Schaefer born in 1949 and died in 2012. The sculpture features a wonderfully and professionally crafted bronze construction that features a water buffalo grunts into the air with a dead tree to its right. The bronze is marked: D. Schaefer - 15/17 on the base of the bronze. Wildlife Artist David Schaefer has received international recognition for his ability to capture in bronze, the power and majesty of his animal subjects from around the world. His works, which are noted for their meticulous detail and dramatic intensity, are displayed in prominent collections such as the Reagan Presidential Library and H.R.H. Prince Philip’s Sandringham Game Museum. The condition of this bronze sculpture is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition.
