For your consideration is this wooden back pack rack from the early 1900's shown by company The Porter. External frame packs were designed to carry heavy loads , giving the wearer more support and protection and better weight distribution than a simple, frameless strapped bag. Wooden pack frames were used for centuries around the world. The frame is in good condition for showing wooden frames with rawhide wrapping the straps to secure them the wooden frame back supports are made form nylon strips as do the bottom of the backpack straps. The condition of this rack is good and is in decent condition for its age. The measurements of this backpack frame are 25" x 13 1/2".
