Offered in this lot is a collection of ten (10) pieces of Montana Ephemera, circa 1900s to 1948. Included are four small town dance notices, popular diversions throughout small town Montana during the early years of statehood and into the 1930s Depression years. Also included in this collection is a flier titled, "Trappers and Shippers Of Furs" from J. E. Lewis of Columbia Falls, Montana. Lewis, a pioneer fur-trader, rancher and businessman, helped make the history of the northwestern part of Montana almost more than any other single individual. Glacier National Park became an international institution partly because he built the Glacier Hotel at the head of Lake McDonald, known now as the Lake McDonald Lodge, which became one of the most famous resorts of its kind in the country. He became the largest broker of raw furs in the northwest. Truly, Lewis was a Montana pioneer in every aspect of the definition. The ephemera is in overall good condition especially considering the over 100 years age of some items. Age tanning and foxing exhibited, no other obvious marring noted. Largest piece
