For your consideration in this lot is an early 19th century fishing creel. The fishing creel features a tight weave, leather handles, and shoulder strap. A Creel is a wicker basket usually used for carrying fish or blocks of peat. It is also the cage used to catch lobsters and other crustaceans. This basket is in good condition, with signs of wear and age. Leather shoulder strap has broken. Measures 16" x 7.5" x 10".
