Featured in this lot we have a candy scale manufactured by the Torsion Balance Co. in the early 20th century. This scale features a white porcelain enamel finish with steel hardware. The front of the scale shows a metal tag reading "The Torsion Balance Co. New York - Style 4590 No. B70645 Capacity 500 GRM Made In U.S.A.". The scale consists of a metal bowl with a counter weight on the other side. The bottom of the piece is marked with a tag reading "Torsion Balance Reg. U.S. Pat. Off. Trade Mark Reg. in Canada". The piece shows good condition overall with some minor wear due to age. The scale measures 12 1/4" at the widest by 5 1/2" deep and 10 1/2" tall.
