The lot features an exceptionally rare original circa 1890 to 1910 quarter sawn oak nineteen-drawer printers typeset cabinet. This is believed to be a Hamilton, the premier name. The cabinet has an extraordinary Art Nouveau style of manufacture, which is uncommonly seen in office industrial furniture such as this. In addition to the classic quarter sawn oak hand-built construction, the cabinet also features the most quintessential Art Nouveau styling of the entire piece, the original iron cupped ornately worked drawer pulls. The handles are original to the piece and truly the center piece of the entire cabinet. Each drawer tray contains subdivided compartments for maximum organization capacity. Original Typeset cabinets such as this are scarcely seen, especially seen in this early of an age with such examples routinely selling for over $1000 to $1500. This cabinet is in good condition and measures 40.5" T x 25.25" W x 18.5" D. The cabinet was recovered from the original mercantile print shop in Eastern Montana where it has resided for much of to all of its life.
