Included in this lot is an Edison Standard Model B Phonograph. The Edison Phonograph Company was formed on October 8, 1887, to market Edison's machine. He introduced the Improved Phonograph by May of 1888, shortly followed by the Perfected Phonograph. This phonograph is most likely dated to after Thomas Edison brought back his idea in 1894. The phonograph displays metal construction, with the player set in a beautiful oak box. The front states "Trade Mark Thomas A. Edison", as well has Edison on front of the oak box. The piece shows a metal manufacturer’s plaque across the top back of the phonograph, with manufacturer information, model name and number, serial numbers, etc. The piece shows good condition overall, with some light wear due to age. The phonograph measures 13" wide by 9 1/4" deep and 9 1/2" tall.
