The lot features a wonderful matched set of Great American Bison Buffalo fur gauntlet glove mittens from the 19th Century. The set shows a curly winter Buffalo fur hide with thick tanned Buffalo hide palms and lined with an early corduroy calico lining. These would have been worn by an early Frontiersman Cowboy in the 1800's in the Old West, possibly in the Montana and Wyoming area. These come from a Great Falls, Montana collection and could have been collected in Montana. These show a nice condition with no apparent fur loss and good patina. Each gauntlet measures 14" long, and 9 3/4" wide.
