Featured in this lot is this pair of Spanish Vaquero handmade bridle bits, circa 19th century. There are two bridle bits in this collection. The first is an early handmade Spanish bit; the bit shows iconic early Spanish bit style with iron ring. The second is a Vaquero style bit with '6' ring shank and a large curb bit; it is a solid piece constructed from two pieces. The condition of this pair of bits is fair-to-poor, with heavy oxidation consistent with the age of the bits and from exposure. The measurements of these bits are 10" x 4 1/4" x 1 1/2" and 5" x 5 1/2" x 2 5/8".
