This lot features three machetes of various types. The first is a machete marked "Made in Sheffield England". These machetes were used in WW II by British and American troops. It has darkened with age but is in good condition. The second machete is a Mexican agave machete. It is etched on both sides of the blade and has a presumably sterling silver handle with stacked leather grip. On one side of the blade is an illustration of man in a sombrero in the desert and on the other is the quote "Aqua de las verdes matas tu me tumbas tu me matas tu me haces andar a gatas con la cola entre las patas". A Mexican proverb regarding the evils of too much tequila. The last machete is of unknown make with a black handle and a rusted blade. None of the machetes come with sheaths. A fine collection, especially the agave machete. the largest item measures 23"L x 2.25"W.
