This is an excellent Nez Perce Native American Indian corn husk bag dating to circa 1880-1890’s. The bag shows a traditional tight weave using the corn husk fibers and has a geometric pattern consisting of corn husk fibers with natural mineral pigment dyes. The bag shows a colorful design on both the front and back with one side showing two tree like patterns shown in colors of red, green, blue, and orange, and the rear showing a diamond arrow pattern all shown in colors of blue, green and orange.
The bag is in very good condition showing no wholes and little to no loss to the fibers being overall well preserved. The bag is truly a fantastic authentic example. Measures 8”L x 7"W
