For your consideration is this early early US August Buermann spurs. The spurs are marked "U.S. A.B." and was made by August Buermann. August Buermann was born in Sattenhausen, Germany Aug. 04, 1842. He apprenticed as a locksmith in Germany and he arrived in New York Aug. 1864. A few weeks later he went into the Army as a substitute for someone who came into the lock smithing company where he was working, looking for a volunteer. August Buermann Mfg. Co. began making spurs for both the civilian and military markets. The spurs features leather spur straps with a heel strap included. The condition of this pair of spurs is good they show slight patina to the spurs and some wear tot he straps. The measurements of this set of spurs are 1/2" x 5 1/2" x 3 1/2".
