Featured in this lot is this Tombstone, Arizona The Daily Nugget: Nov. 12, 1880 "Behan's Sheriff Appointment-Earp Resigns"; Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. The newspaper features two highlighted articles both of them about the resignation of Wyatt Earp and the appointment of Behan to Deputy Sheriff. The newspaper is marked with an ink stamp (its hard to read): Lifetime - advertising agency - San Francisco. The museum label on the front reads as follows: The Daily Nugget - November 12, 1880 - John H. Behan receives appt. from Shibell for County Sheriff after Wyatt Earp resigns. The condition of this The Daily Nugget framed newspaper is well preserved with slight natural tears to the newspaper and the frame seems to have some age wear but otherwise shows a well preserved condition. The measurements of this framed newspaper is 24 5/8" x 38 1/2" and the visible newspaper measures 21 1/4" x 14 7/8". The collective weight of this 9lb 4oz.
