Featured in this lot is this original oil painting of Butte, Montana Mining towers and bridge circa 2007 by American artist Eben Goff born in 1977. The artwork shows a beautiful oil and canvas construction that shows an abstract5 outlook on the oil fields of Butte, Montana. The artwork shows mining towers in poor shape falling down with a decrepit bridge with a red hue to the style of the painting. The artwork is signed on the backside of the painting with the date underneath the signature. In the petroleum industry, a derrick consisting of a framework or tower of wood or steel is erected over the deep drill holes of oil wells to support the tackle for boring, to raise and lower the drilling tools in the well, and to insert and remove the well casing. This collection was acquired in 2008. Eben Goff is a painter that often comes to Butte, Montana and is showcased in galleries around LA. Eben Goff explores material and mineral forms, natural processes, and minimalist language in a multidisciplinary practice that integrates painting, sculpture, drawing, and assemblage. Concered with materiality, Goff often employs juxtapositions of the natural and the manmade, such of engraved wax, metal, carved wood, concrete, and found detritus. He uses these mixed-media objects to create material events in which he confronts the traditions of landscape painting and sculpture - derived from the observation of nature - by subjecting them to a series of operations. The condition of this oil on canvas is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition. The measurements of this painting is 76" x 88". The piece was purchased for about $20,000 back in 2007-2008.
