For your consideration are nine, original photos of a young, Northern Plains Native American woman taken by photographer Edgar Stevens in the 1950s. Two of the photos are hand colored with the others having notes to be prepared for hand coloring. The photos show the woman in various locations around a river and in various poses. She sports two looks for most of the photos, a shorter skirt or water outfit and a trade blanket. She is wearing moccasins and a headband with a feather attached to it. The hand colored photos show colors of green, blue, red, yellow and light blue. Some of the photos are marked with notes on where to color the photos and which colors to use. The photos are numbered in the bottom corners with some marked reading, "Stevens Photo". Edgar Stevens specialized in black-and-white, hand-tinted portraits through the mid 1900s. The photos show good condition overall with slight wear present from their age and use over the years, but no major signs of damage is noted. The photos measure from 7" L x 5" W to 10" L x 8" W and have a collective weight of under 6 ounces.
