For your consideration is a custom genuine leather duffel bag by the renowned Edward H. Bohlin, based out of Hollywood, California. Edward Bohlin and his carefully selected team of leather and silversmiths were known to craft the world’s finest saddles and leather tack. Bohlin was born in Sweden in 1895 and ran away to America at the young age of 15. He had dreams of Buffalo Bill Cody's Wild West in his head, and when he arrived state side, got a job working cattle drives in Montana, later to open his first saddle shop in Cody, Wyoming. Ed would often stand in front of his shop, performing rope tricks to entice cliental. Bohlin met a man named Tom Mix, while performing at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood - Mix convinced Ed to stay in Hollywood to produce his fine saddles, eventually to serve patrons such as Mae West, Hopalong Cassidy, Monte Hale, Lyndon Johnson, and Ronald Reagan. Under Ed's watchful eye, "The Edward H. Bohlin Company" operated from the early 192's, through the 1980s, now operating under different ownership. The bag is made by Edward H. Bohlin Saddlery and Silversmith Company, known for their leather work and silver belt buckles. The bag is marked with a leather badge and stamp both reading "Edward H. Bohlin - Saddle Makers Silversmiths - Hollywood, California - since 1920" and also shows a Texas longhorn. This bag features double leather handles, an adjustable, detachable leather strap, and a leather tag for your to put your information card in. The bag is in good condition with slight markings and wear due to previous use but has no affect on the overall integrity of the bag. The leather strap adjusts and moves easily. The front clasp is strong, and the zipper opens and closes with ease. The stitching on the bag is strong and tight with no signs of fraying or damage. The bottom of the bag is firm and has five (5) metal studs to ensure a strong, level base. The bag measures approximately 18" L x 11" W x 12" H*.
