Featured in this lot is this Photograph numbered Plate 589 by Edward S. Curtis, born in 1868 and passed in 1952; and circa 1925. The photograph features a scene of a Native American man of San Ildefonso and his sons climbing the ladder of their pueblo housing to the second story. The title is shown in the bottom left hand corner of th photograph and the plate number is in the top left hand corner. Edward Sheriff Curtis was an American photographer and ethnologist whose work focused on the American West and on Native American People's. The condition of this framed photograph is good with no obvious signs of damage and in good overall condition. The measurements of this framed photograph are 22 3/4" x 26 1/2" and the visible art measures 12 1/2" x 16 3/4". Provenance: From the renowned Sundog Fine Art Bozeman, Montana collection and collected by Bruce VanLandingham. Bruce VanLandingham was a pillar in the American Indian collecting community and a respected expert. Along with being an avid collector, Bruce also was the sole owner of Sundog Fine Art Gallery in Bozeman, which was both part museum and gallery.
