Included in this lot we have a Egyptian beaded purse with a celluloid clasp originating from the 1930's. In 1922 British archaeologist Howard Carter discovered of King Tutankhamun's tomb in the Valley of the Kings in Egypt. The wealth, beauty and artistry he uncovered astounded the world. Everything from fashion to architecture embraced this new and wonderful 3000 year old imagery. The purse features a celluloid clasp with the image of a sphinx style statue of a pharaoh across the front. The purse displays a variety of colored beads including blue, green, yellow, red, black, brown, dark brown, and pink. The purse features a landscape scene surrounded by geometric designs. The interior of the purse displays a nice dark brown cloth lining. The bag shows good condition overall with minor wear due to age. The piece measures 16 1/2" tall overall by 7 1/2" wide.
