Presented in this lot are El Paso Saddleblanket Company Western-Themed Placemats (15) circa 1970s to 1990s. The placemats feature the profile of two Native Americans wearing war bonnets while facing each other. Geometric designs frame the borders on the left and right. Colours of dark green, yellow, black, light green and red. The placemats have knotted fringe on the ends. One placemat has "sample" written on the right border and a design tag attached, "Two Red Indians". The El Paso Saddleblanket Company, established in 1970 by Dusty and Bonnie Henson as a traveling trading post on Route 66, is a legendary supplier of authentic, heavy hand-woven Southwestern textiles, camp blankets, and saddle blankets, as well as western-themed rustic decor. Their pieces are famous for their tight weave, vibrant geometric patterns, and exceptional durability. Vintage wool and acrylic-blend blankets function beautifully as rustic throw rugs, wall hangings, or vehicle seat covers. The pieces are in very nice condition, colours are vibrant.
