Featured in this lot is this elegant 1.87ct tanzanite diamond and platinum ring with GGA paperwork. The ring features a polished, stamped, and tested platinum construction that is marked on the inside of the ring band as follows: Oscar Freidman - PT950. The ring shows a scalloped border with a center stone of natural cushion brilliant faceted cut tanzanite with measurements of 6.83 x 6.85mm that shows a type 1 clarity with bluish violet coloration with excellent symmetry and shows a total weight of 1.87ct. Tanzanite Is a very rare precious gemstone that is only found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. Originally discovered in 1967 by Tiffany & Company who named the stone Tanzanite. Tanzantite is unique due to its exceptional pleochroism (an optical phenomenon in which a stone has different colors when observed at different angles). This example is a nearly flawless eye clarity and unbelievable depth with transparent finish. The scalloped border is decorated with a total of 10 round brilliant cut diamonds that shows measurements of 2.5 x 2.3mm and shows a clarity of SI1 - SI2 and shows coloration of G - H and a total diamond weight of 0.70cts. The piece comes complete with GGA(GemAssure Gemological Appraisals, GGA Appraisal Number#: GGA050492 and trace number: RN036503) report and appraisal confirming the above info and giving a total value of $11,570.00. The ring size is US 7. RN036503.
