Featured in this lot is this oil on board called "People of Peru #4," circa early 2000's by American artist Elias Rivera born in 1937 and died in 2019. The artwork features a wonderfully and professionally crafted oil on board construction and shows a older Peruvian woman holding a bouquet of flowers and covering her mouth with her right hand. The artist signature is in the bottom right hand corner. Elias J. Rivera (1937 - 2019) was active/lived in New Mexico, New York / Guatemala. Elias Rivera is known for Hispanic genre painting, street life scenes. Rivera's works have been exhibited at the New Mexico Museum of Art, the National Hispanic Cultural Center, the Albuquerque Museum, and the American Academy and Institute for Arts and Letters. The artwork comes complete with a Mark Sublette Certificate of Authenticity. Provenance: This was acquired from a private collection in Arizona. The owner paid $3,200 for this piece in 2000 in Arizona. The owner appraised for $4,625 in 2015. The condition of this framed oil on board is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition. The measurements of this framed oil on board is 14 3/4" x 12 3/4" and the visible art measures 10" x 8".
