The book is profusely illustrated with black & white photographs including a section on his African Safari with Truman Fowler when they bagged four huge tuskers and other big game. Elmer Merrifield Keith (1899 –1984) was an American rancher, firearms enthusiast, and author. Keith was instrumental in the development of the first magnum revolver cartridge, the .357 Magnum, as well as the later .44 Magnum and .41 Magnum cartridges, credited by Roy G. Jinks as "the father of big bore handgunning." Elmer Keith was born near Hardin, Missouri, but was raised in Montana, Idaho, and eastern Oregon. The book is bound in brown cloth with a gold embossed spine. The book still has its paper "dust jacket" with minor tears. Leon Parson did the artwork for the dust cover front and back. The book measures 8 3/4" x 11 1/4" x 1". This book is in good condition with minor wear on the corners.
