Included in this lot is an Engraved Smith, London Sidehammer Boxlock belt pistol. This single shot percussion pistol utilizes a 4 ¼” octagonal barrel chambered in a 54 gauge. The pistol has a wonderfully engraved brass frame and ram rod holder underneath the barrel. The butt of the grip has an engraved metal plate to store additional shot. The one piece walnut grips are in good condition and shows fine factory checkering. This pistol is stamped on the barrel, “Smith London”, with a Birmingham proof mark on the underside of the brass frame. The pistol shows good condition for its age with a warm, mellow patina to the brass. The barrel and hammer retain the original factory engravings and the attached ramrod is a very unique feature to this belt pistol. No Serial Number. This firearm qualifies as an Antique and does not require FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
