For your consideration is this Erhard & Söhne bronze jewelry box made in Germany circa 1890-1910s. Gottlieb Erhard and his two sons formed Erhard & Söhne in 1844 in Schwäbisch Gmünd, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, approximately 50 kilometers east of Stuttgart. Throughout the company's history, they produced a wide range of products, including haberdashery, silver or gold-plated brass and bronze, dollhouse accessories and toys. This bronze jewelry box features intricate geometric / floral designs throughout the outside of the box and features a makers mark on the bottom. The makers mark shows the Erhard Lion, also known as an Aquamanile, in the form of a lion. The jewelry box shows a small lock and latch on the front which can be locked and unlocked with a key located inside of the box. The box shows good condition overall with wear present from its age and use over the years, but no signs of obvious damage is noted. The box measures 3 7/8" L x 5 3/16" W x 2 1/8" H and weighs 1 pound and 6 ounces.
