Featured in this lot is this USN McKeever cartridge case circa 1860's. Provenance: From Garth's Civil War Museum (See Tag). The case is made from leather with a brass hinge rod and clasp. The front of the case is marked "U.S.". When open, the case will hold 20 cartridges. The tag reads as follows: No. 5 Mint Condition U.S. Navy McKeever Cartridge Box. The condition of this cartridge case is well preserved with some wear to the leather and to the inside cartridge loops consistent with age but otherwise shows a well preserved condition. The measurements of this case is 4 1/8" x 7 1/2". The collective weight of this cartridge case is 8oz.
