Featured in this lot are six, exotic Mala bone bead necklaces from Nepal / Tibet from the 20th century. These necklaces feature a bone construction with black, geometric markings on each bead. These beads are used in Tibetan Buddhist practices to symbolize impermanence and detachment. They are often recycled from animals used for food, ensuring no waste. They are held together by piece of sinew. One necklace features black colored fish effigy images on the beads, while the rest of the five necklaces feature a black "X" on each of the beads. They show good condition overall with little wear present and no signs of damage noted. They measure from 8 1/8" L x 8 1/4" W and have a weight of 32.3 grams. Collective weight is 193.2 grams.
