This lot includes a unique cowhide (also referred to to as cow hide, steerhide, steer hide) with a base cream white colour, light blue-grey shoulder colouring and light blue-grey irregular spotting throughout. Possibly a Charolais or British White breed. The British White cattle is an old British breed directly linked to the ancient white cattle of Great Britain. It is native to Whalley Abbey, Lancashire. The Charolais is a breed of taurine beef cattle originally area surrounding Charolles in Burgundy, France. To find a cowhide rug this pale and with these faint grey markings just adding a field of colour is incredible. Rarely seen the faintest of grey on a hide of this quality with added interest of unusual markings. This cowhide is in good overall condition with some holes noted. This rug would be considered an Extra-Large (XL) to Extra-Extra-Large (XXL) in size, 7.5"W x 7.67"L
