Featured in this lot is this F. J. Haynes photograph and ephemera collection circa 1936-1959. Frank Jay Haynes, known as F. Jay or the Professor to almost all who knew him, was a professional photographer, publisher, and entrepreneur from Minnesota who played a major role in documenting through photographs of the settlement and early history of the great Northwest. Haynes (1936), 4118-Golden Gate Photo, "Rare Old Photographs and Good Wishes from Isabel and Jack Haynes Christmas 1959 (4 photos), 3551-East Entrance to Golden Gate, 3611-Geyser Hill from Hotel, 3641-Grand Canyon from the Brink, "Haynes Hand-Painted Photographs of Yellowstone National Park Number List", "Merry Christmas From Linda Haynes Old Faithful Geyser Photo", 10124-Great Fall from Below, 308ft (4), 37016G-Calcite Springs & Bumpus Butte, three Haynes Studio Inc. letter heads, "Haynes Pictures Numerical List", sixty-three Haynes Picture Shop stamps and a Yellowstone National Park Haynes stamp. The collection shows good condition overall with some slight wear present on the items but no signs of major damage or wear is noted. Four duplicates of one photo is in the lot (10124-Great Fall from Below, 308ft). The pieces measure from 1 1/4" L x 1 1/4" W to 11" L x 8 1/2" W and have a collective weight of 12 ounces.
