For your consideration is a first edition copy of “Fifty Years on the Frontier” by James H. Cook and published by New Haven Yale University Press in 1923. The cover of this book is all black, with the spine of the book having the title in gold font and Yale University's stamp in a gold font as well. The book tells of the life of James H. Cook as a hunter, guide, cowboy, scout, and ranchman in the western frontier. The book has an introduction by Brigadier-General Charles King, U.S.V. This book has 291 pages with four parts in the book and displays over forty black and white illustrations throughout. The book shows good condition overall and minimal wear. There are two handwritten signatures from Carl Skillings on front and back cover. It measures 9 1/2" tall by 6 1/2" wide and 1 1/2" thick.
