Presented in this lot are First Edition Vintage Railroad Books, "The Union Pacific Story, Golden Spike Centennial 1869-1969", 1969; "Dinner In The Diner", 1965, by Will C. Hollister, Trans-Anglo Books, Los Angeles publisher. "The Union Pacific Story " tells of the first one hundred years of its storied history illustrated with many photographs and also prints from the world's foremost railroad artist, Howard Fogg's. "Dinner in the Diner" features 300 recipes from historic railroad restaurants of America's era of great trains. This is a unique cookbook that will appeal to those who are nostalgic about rail travel and dining. The book also includes historic photographs of the trains, their dining cars and their staffs. There are also illustrated maps of the nineteen different railroad systems including the Santa Fe, Burlington, Great Northern, Canadian National, Southern Pacific. Both book are in very nice condition, illustrated paper dust jacket for "Dinner in the Diner" has slight tears, scuffing observed. Respective measurements are 8"W x 10.5"L and 8.75"W x 11.25"L x .5"D, combined weight 2lb.
