Offered in this lot is a pair of first edition western theme books. The first book is "When Geronimo Rode" by Forrestine C. Hooker and was published in 1924 and still has its dust jacket. Under the dust jacket the book is bound in blue cloth with gold embossed lettering. Contained within this antique book is the story of Bonita and the two men who loved her. Mrs. Hooker writes from the fullness of her knowledge, her girlhood having been spent amid the scenes which she depicts. It is a text not to be missed by collectors of such literature. Many antique books such as this are becoming increasingly rare and expensive. The next book is "The Pathbreakers From River To Ocean" by Hebard Ph.d. This first edition 1911 book tells the story of the great west from the time of Coronado to the "present". This scarce antiquarian book is culturally important. The book has a red cloth cover with black printing and measures 7 1/2" X 5 1/2" X 3/4". When Geronimo Rode measures 7 3/4" X 5 1/4" X 1 1/2". Both these books are in good condition and have a collective weight of 2 pounds.
