This is an excellent handwoven flat weave rug by master weaver Pedro Gutierrez using 100% soft fine handspun yarns in a beautiful First Mesa pattern. The rug was handwoven with a tight weave using 100% handspun wool yarns that offers natural variegation and durability with color fast aniline dyes. Tight handwoven weave displayed with natural tones in the fine Antique Toadlena style of the First Mesa pattern in the time-honored Zapotec multi-generational craft by a master weaver, Pedro Gutierrez. The rug shows a phenomenal 1920s antique style Toadlena or Two Grey Hills Navajo like pattern with modern twist showing a central diamond pattern with heathered dark brown background and three bar bands and border, a styling of a Chief’s Blanket as well, all in colors of brown, cream / white and red. The piece is brand new in pristine condition with fine tight weave. The rug measures 2’ by 3’ (2 foot by 3 foot).
