This is an excellent hand woven flat weave rug by master weaver, Pedro Gutierrez. The rug was made using 100% soft, fine, hand spun wool yarns in a beautiful First Mesa Toadlena pattern. The rug was hand woven with a tight weave using 100% hand spun wool yarns that offer natural variegation and durability with color fast aniline dyes. The tight, hand woven weave, displayed with natural fleece tones, is in the fine First Mesa Toadlena pattern of the time-honored Zapotec, multi-generational craft by a master weaver, Pedro Gutierrez. This rug shows iconic Zapotec design with thick, symmetrical decoration. The rug shows a phenomenal 1920s antique style, Toadlena or Two Grey Hills Navajo-like pattern with a modern twist, showing a central diamond pattern with a heathered dark brown background, three bar bands, and border. This is a styling of a Chief’s Blanket, all in colors of light and dark brown with a red field. The piece is brand new, in pristine condition, with a fine, tight weave. The rug measures 2’ by 3’ (2 foot by 3 foot). This is a brand new rug.
