This lot features a first year production Marlin Firearms Company Model 1894 chambered in .38-40. This rifle features a 24" round barrel, full length magazine, straight grain walnut stocks, adjustable semi buckhorn rear sight, and patina'd blue'd finish. The barrel is marked "Marlin Fire Arms Co. New Haven CT. U.S.A. - Patented Oct. 11. 1887. April 2. 1889. August 1. 1893." and "38-40" near the receiver. The top of the receiver is stamped "Marlin Safety." The rifle shows good condition, with signs of wear and use. The mechanics are tight and smooth, The bore is bright and rifling shows fair to good condition with no visible pitting. This rifle was manufactured in 1894. Serial Number: 336823. This firearm qualifies as an Antique, and does not require FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
