The lot features a set of Flathead Native American Indian beaded moccasins dating to the 19th Century. The moccasins originate from Montana and show an Indian tanned hide upper construction with Great American Bison Buffalo parfleche rawhide soles that are sinew sewn. The set shows a medium height ankle that has a border of red ribbon trade clothe. The fronts of each moccasin shows a cross pattern in all period correct 19th Century glass trade seed beads of semi-transparent translucent Cheyenne pink, greasy yellow and a cobalt blue. The soles of the moccasins show the worn outlines of feet from many years of use. The set overall is very well preserved showing very good condition for its age with no major damage and little to no bead loss.
