The lot features a fully beaded geometric and pictorial flat bag from the Flathead Native American Indians of Montana and dating to circa 1940-1950's. The bag shows a tanned hide construction with floral calico trade clothe lining and is covered in glass trade seed beads showing a fantastic geometric pattern and stunning Rocky Mountain Elk pictorial front motif. The bag shows a large flap on the front and two long tanned hide ties. The beadwork includes such colors as greasy yellow, corn yellow, chalk white, red, brown, semi-transparent brown, semi-transparent green, green, semi-transparent smoky. orange, green, faceted black, opaque white and more. The bag shows very fine original condition and displays well. Measures overall when closed 5"x5.5" with an additional 11"L ties. When open the bag is 9.25"L.
