Offered in this lot we have a flexible flyer metal and wood snow sled. The flexible flyer was patented in 1889 by Samuel Allen in Cinnaminson, New Jersey. The sleds became a winter staple for much of the 1900's. This sled originates from around the mid 1900's. It shows a red arrow with a sticker across the arrow reading "Flexible Flyer - trade mark Reg. U.S. Pat. Office". The sled is marked in the front across the steering handle "Flexible Flyer". The sled is in good condition with some slight signs of wear. The sled measures 54" long by20 1/2" at its widest.
