Offered in this lot are Vintage Frank Whiting Sterling Silver mounted cut glass coasters and a Waterford Silver Mounted Cut Glass Decanter, circa mid-century. Frank Whiting Sterling is a brand known for high-quality, antique and vintage sterling silver pieces. They produced a wide variety of flatware, hollowware, and other decorative silver items. Frank M. Whiting Co. began making silverware in North Attleboro, Massachusetts in 1878, under the name Holbrook, Whiting & Albee. The origins of crystal production in Waterford date back to 1783, when George Penrose and his nephew William Penrose started their business, the Waterford Glassworks. It produced extremely fine flint glass that became world-renowned. That firm closed in June 1851. Four of the sterling silver mounted bead edge cut glass coasters feature a starburst design, two coasters feature a sterling silver mounted teardrop edge cut glass with a chrysanthemum design. The sterling silver mounted cut glass decanter features dolphin-style handle design with a floral design mouth. The coasters and decanter are in good overall condition, featuring a wonderfully and professionally crafted sterling silver and cut glass construction. Rich patina observed throughout. Coasters measure 4" diameter, decanter is 6.5"W x 14"H, combined weight is 6lb, 12oz.
