Featured in this lot are ten Franklin Library leather bound & gilt fiction/novel books from various authors, presented by The Franklin Library circa 1976-1979. The books in this collection are fiction/novel and are from various authors. They show beautiful colors of leather binding and various designs of gold gilt on the spines and front covers. The edges of the paper are also gilted in gold color. The books in this collection are as follows - "The Optimist's Daughter" by Eudora Welty, "A Bell For Adano" by John Hersey, "Ivanhoe" by Sir Walter Scott, "Laughing Boy" by Oliver La Farge, "Gulliver's Travels" by Jonathan Swift, "In This Our Life" by Ellen Glasgow, "Journey in the Dark" by Martin Flavin, "Captains Courageous" by Rudyard Kipling, "The Way West" by A.B. Guthrie Jr. and "Guard of Honor" by James Gould Cozzens. The books show good condition overall with little to no wear present and no signs of damage. They measure from 8 3/8" L x 6 1/2" W x 1" D to 9 1/2" L x 6 1/2" W x 1 7/8" D and have a collective weight of 18 pounds and 8 ounces.
