Peter Heyl Hassrick (1941-2019) was an American museum curator, art historian, and the author or editor of many exhibition catalogues about Western American art. Frederic Sackrider Remington (1861-1909) was an American painter, illustrator, sculptor, and writer who specialized in the genre of Western American Art. His works are known for depicting the Western United States in the last quarter of the 19th century and featuring such images as cowboys, Native American Indians, and the US Cavalry. This book details the interesting life of Frederic Remington and includes full-color large-scale reproductions of paintings, accompanied by drawings and sculptures immortalizing the cowboys, Native Americans and others who populated the Old West. The book shows a beige colored hard cover with an image of a cowboy riding a bucking bronco in gold gilt. The dust cover shows a famous painting of Frederic Remington and shows the title and the author.
