For your consideration is an Antique French Victorian Neo-Gothic Patinated Hanging Sanctuary Lamp with Blue Globe, circa late 19th century to early 20th century. The lamp features three cast iron doves surrounding the center candle/globe holder, suspends on three chains. The neo-Gothic movement began in the latter half of the 17th century as a revival of medieval Gothic architecture and spread to include decorative patterns. The movement continued into the early 20th century, eventually becoming adapted for American colleges and university campuses. The sanctuary lamp doves are detailed in the wings and breasts. There is a rich brown and green patination observed throughout the lamp, flat bottom 9.5"L blue glass globe has slight chipping along rim area. Lamp measures 30"L x 12" diameter, combined weight is 4lb, 8oz.
