The lot features a brass pipe tomahawk with file burned haft, all in the stylings and pattern of a Fur Trade Era piece. The head shows solid brass construction with small rear curved flaring blade and tear drop eye and stout filed moldings topped off by a vase shaped faceted pipe bowl. Inside the eyelet hole, the piece is marked “RING” and “O-“. The piece is paired with a soft wood haft handle that is in the tear drop smooth shape and is slightly curved toward the gripping area ending. The entire handle is covered in nice file branded/ burned linear stripped pattern with slightly yellow coloring. The head is held onto the haft with a strip of sand paper gasket. The end of the haft shows a plug. The age and originality of the piece are unknown. Measures overall 16.5”L, with a head that is 6.5”L and a blade that is 2 1/8”L.
