Featured in this lot is this G.S.T.P. and Smiths Empire pocket watches c. 1940's. There are two pocket watches in this collection. The first is a General Service - Trade Pattern pocket watch circa WWII era, GSTP watches were issued to British military ground forces in WWII. The number on the outside of the back cover was the issue number, which would have been noted in the pay book of the man it was issued to. the watch is inscribed: GS/TP P23571. The second is a Smiths Empire watch that doesn't show a swivel loop above the the turn key and is marked: Smiths Empire - Made in GT Britain. The condition of these pocket watches is poor to fair with the glass covering coming of the Empire Smith pocket watch and both seem to not wind up. The measurements of these watches are 2 7/8" x 2" x 1/2" and 2 3/8" x 2" x 5/8".
