Featured in this lot is this Ganesha three eye inlaid elephant ornament. This ornament is constructed from pressed brass with inlaid turquoise and red clay beadwork and decorated bone. Ganesha, also spelled Ganesh and called Ganapati, is an elephant-headed Hindu god of beginnings, who is traditionally worshipped before any major enterprise and is the patron of intellectuals, bankers, scribes, and authors. Like a rat and like an elephant, Ganesha is a remover of obstacles. The condition of this Ganesha ornament is good, with some of the clay beading ruptured in some places. The measurements of this Indian ornament are 8" x 7" x 1 1/2".
