"Aux Aliments Du Pays" is a simple statement in French meaning "Nourishment of the Land". The essence of this scene is taking what nature provides to survive a rather hostile environment that was chosen by the mountain man. In reality, it was to avoid the civilization that was brought on after Lewis and Clark had completed their exploration of the Northwest Territory. The litho is signed by the artist in the bottom right hand corner "Gary Carter" and is numbered 7 out of 85 as an artist's proof.
